Getting Started

MetricsByScott is your own metrics service and data warehouse — a privacy-friendly alternative to Google Analytics or Mixpanel. Instead of sending your users' behavior to a third party, your apps send it here, where you own it and can query it from a dashboard or by AI.

The main pieces are:

• Apps & sending data — register each app and give it an API key so it can send data in.
• Events — discrete things that happen: page views, feature usage, custom events.
• Values & samples — numbers tracked over time (MRR, user counts) and high-frequency measurements.
• Visitors & attribution — who's visiting and where they came from (UTM, leads).
• Dashboard & widgets — the signed-in dashboard summarizes your metrics, and embedded widgets visualize them.
• Team & admin — manage your account, apps, keys, and members.

You need an account

The MetricsByScott web app requires signing in; there's nothing public to browse. Your data lives inside an account, which owns one or more apps that send data in. Wondering if it's a fit? See Is MetricsByScott for you?.
